What Is Silhouette InstaLift™?

The Silhouette InstaLift is a modern-day thread lift that has been clinically proven to achieve optimal results with minimal downtime. Thread lifts were initially popular several years ago, when a few doctors attempted to reposition superficial tissue using barbed, dissolvable treads. The thread lift of today still uses absorbable suture material, but the barbs are gone. The reason why early thread lifts were largely unsuccessful was that the barbs on the sutures consisted of tiny cuts into the threads themselves. This could lead to the thread snapping and dropping tissue long before anticipated.

The InstaLift is a technique in which suture material with bi-directional cones is inserted in various parts of the face. Sutures have an entry point and an exit point, that is all. No incisions, no scarring. Once inserted into the appropriate pattern, the threads are then gently pressed upon, helping the cones grab hold of tissue for subtle repositioning. The entire process takes an hour or less and achieves results that can last up to two years.

After a Silhouette InstaLift, patients can expect slight swelling and redness in the areas where suture material has been introduced. Some patients also notice subtle bruising. In most cases, patients are back to their normal routine the day after their InstaLift. However, side effects can linger for up to two weeks.
