Microdermabrasions are a safe, minimally invasive, no downtime procedure that takes about 30 minutes to perform. The procedure uses a gentle stream of tiny particles that exfoliate the outer layer of your skin, improving your skin’s texture, tone, and appearance.
Microdermabrasions offer effective results that are visible immediately.
- Reduced or eliminated appearance of acne scarring
- Reduced appearance of hyperpigmentation
- Improvement in skin texture and pore size
- Minimization of fine lines and wrinkles
Microdermabrasion is safe for all skin types. We do not recommend microdermabrasion if you have rosacea. Any active infection such as cold sores, open acne lesions, or picked skin should be treated and cleared before a microdermabrasion is performed. Most common side effect is some mild redness that lasts 1-2 hours after the procedure. Most patients can achieve noticeable results after 4 – 8 treatment sessions spaced 1-2 weeks apart.
You may resume your skincare product regimen that evening. We recommend avoiding direct sun exposure after this procedure and apply sunblock to minimize potential post-inflammatory pigmentation, which is rare.
Here at Aderma Medical Spa, we offer two different types of microdermabrasions, and a microdermabrasion upgrade – the Ultra Microdermabrasion.
This resurfacing treatment uses tiny crystals. You’ll get a gentle and safe removal of the outer, dead layers of the skin. Minimizes fine lines, temporarily reduces pore size and evens skin tone. Helps treat scarring, sun damage, and acne.
A crystal-free microdermabrasion treatment that effectively removes surface pigmentation while stimulating additional collagen formation to smooth out the skin, improve skin texture, reduce pore size, and diminish fine lines.
Enhance the effects of your microdermabrasion treatment. An enzyme masque will be applied to loosen dead skin cells prior to treatment. A rehydrating mask will be applied post treatment to hydrate and smooth treated skin.
